The One Where They Live in Canada

I had Friends on in the background the other day and thought it would be fun to try recreating the vibe of Monica’s apartment— mainly the living room for the purpose of this post— with Canadian-made products and secondhand finds.

To curate a cozy lived-in look like Monica’s apartment, mixing in secondhand finds would be key. Inheriting hand-me-downs from friends and family is a good place to start, then try to shop online marketplaces and visit thrift stores, estate sales and garage sales in your community for a most authentic look. Secondhand pieces give the look that things have been collected over time which is exactly the vibe of Monica’s place.

Not everything is exactly right, but I think I’ve got the vibes down for this one!

The Iconic Purple Walls

One of the most memorable features of Monica’s apartment is the iconic purple walls. Google tells me that Monica’s apartment was painted in Benjamin Moore's Persian Violet, but since that’s not a Canadian-made paint brand, here are some similar options:
