Shop Secondhand: Brandon

Made in Canada or not, there’s always a place for secondhand goods in interior design. Here are three reasons why you should shop secondhand in your community, or on your travels:

  1. The origin country no longer matters as the manufacturer has already been paid. Whether it’s a local thrift store that gives back to your community, or someone selling from their home in your neighbourhood, the money now stays here in Canada.

  2. This keeps goods out of landfills which is very much needed with the amount of overconsumption today. It always feels good to do our part to reduce our environmental impact!

  3. This is an often inexpensive way to make a big impact aesthetically— older furniture is better quality than the majority of mass produced stuff today, vintage finds add immediate character and charm to a space, and collecting old art helps you curate a one of a kind collection.

Here’s a roundup of some secondhand finds I found by (online) window shopping in Brandon, Manitoba.

All items were listed as available at time of posting.

Obviously, there’s more options at the local thrift stores, garage sales and estate sales in your community, so make sure to check those out as well!
